Be aware when things are out of balance.
Stay centered within the Tao.”

Benefits – You have an important acupuncture cavity on the top of your head called the Baihui.  It is associated with the Governing Vessel so called because so many of the meridians meet together at this point.  Sending ch’i from this point will energize much of your body.  Pulling used or “waste” ch’i from this point clears the body quickly and effectively.

Posture – Sit as usual, feet flat on the floor, hips tucked under, head held high.

  1. Begin with your hands in front of your lower abdomen, palms up, fingertips not quite touching
  2. Breathe in slowly as you bring your right arm upward.  Drop your left to your left side, palm parallel with the floor.
  3. As you move your arm up over your head, begin to slowly twist your forearm so that your palm will be turned toward the ceiling.  Make sure your hand is directly above the center of your head.
  4. Breathe out and “pull” the stale ch’i through the top of your head.   Move your hand slowly and visualize being “pulled” by the upward movement of your right hand.
  5. Breathe out slowly but twist your arm quickly so that your palm is now facing downward and slowly bring your right arm down to your lower abdomen bringing your left hand to meet it.  Your hands will now be close together palms facing upward.
  6. Repeat the steps above with your left arm moving overhead and your right arm dropping to your right side, palm facing downward.  Continue to alternate arms for at least a total of 3 repetitions with each arm.

Use the presure point One Hundred Meeting Point (GV 20) to complete your session.

  • To find this point, place your right hand behind your right ear and your left behind your left ear.  Move your hands in a straight line to the top of your head.  In the middle of your skull is GV19.  Move your hand about 1 inch forward to find GV 20, the One Hundred Meeting Point.
  • Press firmly on this point for at least one full minute.

Benefits:  This point is very good for relieving headaches, improving concentration and memory.  Use this point frequently to increase its effectiveness.

Don’t forget to drink water at the end of your exercise session or any time you begin to feel thirsty.  A Word of Caution…If you have or have had problems with your kidneys, please consult your physician.
