Exercise #139 – Acupressure and Oxygenating for Healthy Skin, Part 6

This week we’re going to use the acupressure point, Wind Screen (TW 17). This highly effective point benefits the skin by balancing the thyroid gland.  It is also helpful in relieving hives.  You can use this acupressure point daily.

 

Wind Screen (TW 17):

  1. Sit as usual with your feet flat on the floor, shoulder-width apart, hips tucked slightly under you so that your back is fully supported by the back of the chair.
  2. Breathe in and out through your nose slowly at least 6 times.
  3. Locate the Wind Screen acupressure point on the illustration below which is from the book, Acupressure’s Potent Points.  Press firmly on this point for a full minute using your middle and index fingertips.

Centering Ch’i:

Breathe in through your nose tightening your abdomen as you do so (reverse breathing).

Lift your arms out to the sides until they are above your head, palms facing the ceiling, fingers slightly apart.

Hold for a moment, then release your hands so they are facing downward again and lower your arms slowly back to your sides as you breathe out through your mouth, releasing just your lower abdomen.  Repeat all steps twice more.

Don’t forget to drink water at the end of your exercise session or any time you begin to feel thirsty.  A Word of Caution…If you have or have had problems with your kidneys, please consult your physician.
