Exercise #138 – Acupressure and Oxygenating for Healthy Skin, Part 5

This post focuses on relieving facial blemishes, acne, and a poor complexion with sagging cheeks by increasing facial circulation  through the daily use of an acupressure point called Facial Beauty (St 3).   Add to that, slow and thoughtful oxygenating breath exercises and you have a system you can use at home easily whenever you have a few free moments.

  1. Sit quietly and breathe slowly in through your nose and out through your mouth at least 6 times.
  2. Scroll down to the illustration below from Michael Reed Gach’s book and find the acupressure point labeled St 3.  You can find it on your own face at the bottom of your cheekbone. directly below the pupil of your eye.
  3. Press firmly on these points for a full minute at least once a day.

 

Conclude your session with 3 repetitions of Centering Ch’i:

Breathe in through your nose tightening your abdomen as you do so (reverse breathing).

Lift your arms out to the sides until they are above your head, palms facing the ceiling, fingers slightly apart.

Hold for a moment, then release your hands so they are facing downward again and lower your arms slowly back to your sides as you breathe out through your mouth, releasing just your lower abdomen.  Repeat all steps twice more.

Don’t forget to drink water at the end of your exercise session or any time you begin to feel thirsty.  A Word of Caution…If you have or have had problems with your kidneys, please consult your physician.
