To manage the existence of today
One can know the ancient beginning
It is called the Tao Axiom.”
Tao Te Ching #14:3, translated at www.Taoism.com
We continue in this post with the breathing exercises and acupressure points that target our body’s largest organ, the skin. The acupressure point featured here is used particularly for clearing acne outbreaks.
Heavenly Pillar acupressure point with breathing:
Begin this exercise seated as usual with your feet flat on the floor, shoulder-width apart. Breathe in and out through your nose only, quietly and thoughfully, at leat 6 times.
Then find the acupressure point labeled B10 on the ropy muscles about half an inch below the base of your skull and approximately half an inch to either side of your spine.
Press firmly on both points i.e., on both sides of your neck, for at least a full minute. You may use these points several times throughout the day if you wish.
When you finish with the acupressure points, do 3 repetitions of the exercise, Centering Ch’i:
- Breathe in through your nose tightening your abdomen as you do so (reverse breathing).
- Lift your arms out to the sides until they are above your head, palms facing the ceiling, fingers slightly apart.
- Hold for a moment, then release your hands so they are facing downward again and lower your arms slowly back to your sides as you breathe out through your mouth, releasing just your lower abdomen. Repeat all steps twice more.
Don’t forget to drink water at the end of your exercise session or any time you begin to feel thirsty. A Word of Caution…If you have or have had problems with your kidneys, please consult your physician.
